For some (fans of Saints), Drew Brees is the greatest quarterback of all time. He has the stats, but he doesn’t have the rings. Then you have Tom Brady who has the rings and the stats, but they knocked him down for playing with Bill Belichick.
It’s similar to Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan.
Drew Brees is Kobe. Tom Brady is Jordan. However, the difference is that, like Jordan, Brady changed football. Brady is the most dominant quarterback of all time, the most successful quarterback of all time and arguably the most clutching quarterback of all time.
Think of it like this, before Brady, the most rings a quarterback has ever won was 4. Brady has 6 and is still playing. It made fans believe that their favorite quarterback can win 5, 6, or even 7+ rings, which has never been the case in the past.
It changes the game.
Even though Drew Brees holds most of the passing records in the NFL, Brady is not far behind. And since there is talk that Brees will only last one more year while Brady plans to go until the wheels fall, there is no guarantee that Brees will remain the record holder.
By far, Tom Brady is the coldest and tallest quarterback of all time. Drew Brees is really great, but he is no taller than Tom Brady.
